Interactive Science Resources
Digital Missions that Strengthen Scientific Inquiry — Because Learning Should Inspire Discovery and Understanding
Interactive Science Resources for Teachers
Mission.io offers interactive science activities that bring standards to life through high-energy, story-driven missions. Instead of memorizing facts, students engage in real-world challenges where success depends on asking the right questions, analyzing data, and applying scientific thinking—together. Our platform hits the full range of science and engineering practices while keeping students deep in DOK 3 and 4 territory, where learning is active, collaborative, and impossible to ignore.
Ask & Investigate
Teach students to analyze evidence, question assumptions, and construct solutions using interactive lab simulations and digital missions that focus on the process of scientific inquiry.
Experiment & Create
Encourage students to think deeply about science, test different approaches, and apply creative problem-solving to real-world challenges in a fun, engaging environment.
Communicate & Defend
Help students build observation skills, clearly express their findings, and support their conclusions with evidence through collaborative scientific discussions.

Why Choose Mission.io?
At Mission.io, we get it—keeping students engaged in science can feel like herding cats with lab goggles. That’s why our interactive science missions plug right into what you’re already doing, no extra prep or content overhaul required.
Each experience is packed with hands-on problem-solving, collaboration, and meaningful decision-making that connects directly to your standards. And while your students are fully immersed, our platform quietly tracks their knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork—giving you real data on the skills that matter most. No tech headaches. No busy work. Just real science, done right.
Why Is Mission.io the Best Choice for Science Teachers?
- Hands-On Without the Hassle: From biology quests to physics challenges, our science missions deliver rich, interactive experiences—no lab equipment or prep required. All you need is a device for each student.
- Built for Standards, Powered by Context: Each mission places students in the middle of a real-world scenario that demands cross-curricular thinking. They’ll engage with NGSS and most state science standards—while also drawing on math, literacy, and critical thinking skills to make sense of complex phenomena.
- Easy for Teachers: No complicated logins. No endless prep. Just choose a mission, connect your class, and dive into meaningful science.
- Customizable & Measurable: Adapt missions for your grade level and get performance data that reflects real learning—like critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
We know science teachers already wear a dozen hats—lesson creator, lab tech, and part-time magician. Mission.io doesn’t add more to your plate. It makes what you already do even more powerful.
What Does Mission.io Look Like in the Classroom?
Imagine this: A swarm of asteroids is headed straight for Earth, and your students are the science team tasked with saving the planet. In small teams, they analyze asteroid composition, calculate trajectories, and debate which ones will burn up—and which ones could cause serious damage. To succeed, they must apply core science concepts, collaborate under pressure, and think like real scientists.
Mission.io doesn’t just spark curiosity—it launches students into thrilling, real-world science challenges. No passive lessons here—just immersive, student-led missions that demand critical thinking, collaboration, and applied learning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ready to trade textbooks for epic adventures? We know you might have questions along the way! Dive into our FAQs to discover how Mission.io works, what kind of challenges you'll face, and how it can ignite passion for learning.
Forget boring lectures! Mission.io is a revolutionary educational program designed to transform learning from passive lectures to engaging, gamified missions. Students embarked on exciting adventures, tackling real-world challenges across various subjects.
Imagine shrinking down to explore the human body like a tiny explorer, unraveling mysteries on a far-off planet, or even high-fiving a T-Rex (safely, from a time machine, of course!).
Mission.io throws students headfirst into exciting, interactive challenges where their crew (aka classmates) must work together to solve real-world, standards-based problems that arise throughout the storyline of the mission. This immersive approach fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, igniting a passion for learning in students of all ages.
In K-2, missions typically take 20-30 minutes. In 3rd grade and up, the missions are designed to take around 30-45 minutes.
Missions are available for kindergarten through 8th grade! We also have a range of missions available for after school, CTE, and STEM that apply to mixed age groups up to 12th grade.
Our mission library includes science and math missions aligned to NGSS, CCSS, and state-specific standards. We are always adding new missions to our library, if you have a request for a specific standard or topic you’d like to see in a mission, let us know!
When you're new to Mission.io, we recommend rocketing through one of our awesome training missions first!
These bite-sized blasts of learning are designed for both you and your students to get comfortable with the platform's features and controls. Think of them as your personal launchpad to becoming Mission.io masters!
To run a successful mission, you need:
- An Internet-enabled device for every student (Chromebook, iPad, etc.).
- A teacher computer connected to a projector or TV (main view screen where the story plays out).
- An audio system loud enough for students to hear character dialogue.
That’s it!
Now, if you have a bigger class with more than 40, no worries! We just might need to chat with your principal about ways to split the mission into smaller squads to avoid teacher burnout. Remember, happy teachers make for happy learners (and less grading for you!).
- Built-in library of training videos covering every aspect of the experience.
- Mission guides for every mission.
- Step-by-step walkthroughs.
And if any questions come up, you can chat with a REAL HUMAN anytime during school hours!
