Canvas Integration

Mission.io offers an integration with Canvas, making it easier than ever to import classes and access the missions library. Note, that only Canvas admins can integrate Mission.io with their Canvas account in the district.

 

Instructions

Step 1:  Log in to your Canvas account with administrator privileges. Navigate to the Admin section. Within the Admin section, find “Site Admin”. Click on “Developer Keys”. Click the button “+ Developer Key”. From the dropdown menu, choose “+ LTI Key”.

Step 2:  A menu will appear with several required fields. Choose Methods, choose “Enter URL”

Step 3:  Enter the following information into the required fields.

  1. Key Name: Mission.io
  2. Owner Email: engineering@mission.io
  3. JSON URL: https://login-server.mission.io/lms/lti/config/canvas
  4. Redirect URIs: The section will populated automatically
  5. Notes (optional): Any notes you may want to enter here.

Step 4:  Make sure the state of the tool is set to ON.

Step 5: Copy the Client ID value in the Details column of your new key for the next steps.

Step 6: Navigate to Settings > Apps > View App Configurations >  “+ App”

  1. Choose Configuration Type, By Client ID
  2.  Enter the Client ID of the Developer Key (from the previous step)
  3. Click Submit, then Install

Step 7: Make sure to email us with the Client ID and your Canvas URL (something like “https://something.instructure.com") to the following email address: support@mission.io

2nd Grade | Material Properties

Playground Peril

Using their knowledge of object properties, the crew will reassemble a playground that has been taken apart by GAL-Delilahs.

 

Standards: NGSS 2-PS1-1 • NGSS 2-PS1-2

5th Grade | Substance Properties

Into the Asteroid

Students will identify substances based on their properties and will use that knowledge to prevent an asteroid disaster.

 

Standards: NGSS 5-PS1-3

Grades 6-8 | S.T.E.M.

Invasion

Using their knowledge of the engineering process, the crew will help control an invasive species population to restore biodiversity to a marine ecosystem.

 

Standards: NGSS MS-ETS1-1, ETS1-2, ETS1-3, ETS1-4 • NGSS MS-LS2-1 • NGSS MS-LS2-4, LS2-5
